Cranes Restoration

Cranes Restoration offers preventative and emergency services for COVID-19. We are at the front lines of this crisis for our community. As Medicine Hat’s only locally owned and operated restoration and cleaning company, we can help reduce the risk of infection or illness, cross-contamination, and downtime in operations. We have taken the necessary steps as a company to ensure proper protective equipment is in place with a responsibility to protect our employees and our clients. If there is an impact or incident in your property, building or facility that would impact your operations, or if you would like to be proactive, please contact us.

Proactive Measures

Protecting your teams in advance is as important as a quick response when a possible or positive case is determined. Call us, and we will employ proactive cleaning measures as the first line of defence against the arrival of COVID-19.

Emergency Measures

When a case has been reported in your home, office or property, reaction time is critical. After we receive your call, we will quickly be on-site, followed by a walkthrough of the services and ready to begin setting up to start decontamination.

Cleaning Process and Evaluation

Cleaning of TouchPoints

The first step in cleaning and sanitizing to break the chain of COVID-19 illnesses from secondary surfaces is to remove soil and other surface contaminants. Typically, a trigger sprayer and a wiping cloth are used for cleaning most touchpoints. In that circumstance, spraying the cloth and then wiping is preferable to spraying the surface. Emphasis will be placed on cleaning surfaces more likely to be touched by occupants, commonly referred to as touchpoints. Since people are not precise when touching objects, touchpoint cleaning should extend past the focused item 3-12 inches. Common touchpoints include, but are not limited to, doorknobs and locks, door push bars, door edges and jambs on the side opposite the hinges, stair and ramp hand railings, cupboard handles and drawer pulls, appliance handles, light switches, table and desktops, telephones, toilet seats and flush handles, faucet handles, soap pumps, keyboards and mice, elevator buttons, credit card keypads, vending machine buttons, equipment controls, television remote controls, chair armrests, bed rails, and countertops. Along with all surface touchpoints being cleaned, we would also administer HEPA vacuuming and the use of HEPA filtered equipment to ensure all flooring surfaces have all soiled contaminants removed, followed by a carpet cleaning or wet floor disinfectant application to tiled surfaces. Touchpoints will also vary by the type of facility being cleaned, and we will work with you to identify these touchpoints on a case-by-case basis. For example, a church or medical office would have different touchpoints than an ordinary room.

Project/Site Evaluation Process

We identify that each project and site may differ and have a different evaluation process. We have set up an application program for each depending on each customer's needs. Each project is evaluated for procedures and methods that are appropriate to meet the goals of the client. Proper touchpoint cleaning includes developing a facility-specific checklist of critical touchpoints, providing the checklist to our trained workers using particular products and application methods to be used, and allowing adequate dwell time for the cleaner/sanitizer—additionally, appropriate supervision of the cleaning activities, as well as post-cleaning evaluation.

Post-work Project Evaluation

The combination of touchpoint cleaning and the application of a disinfectant to other surfaces is a proven strategy to break the chain of infection. Although these efforts are designed to affect microorganisms that are too small to see without magnification, a detailed post-work visual inspection is completed to evaluate the effectiveness of the efforts to control COVID-19. In combination with our management and team leads, we will review all touchpoints that have been cleaned and that they do not reveal any discoloration or residue. If desired by the contractor or the client, any visible debris deposited on the test cloth (no disinfectant residue) will be re-looked prior to completion to ensure satisfaction.

Services Offered

Basic TouchPoint Service

We are offering a basic service that will be an enhanced cleaning of touchpoints and the application of disinfectants to other surfaces. The application would begin at the designated upper height and move down to floor level in overlapping passes to ensure that every part of the surface to be treated is adequately covered. This service to clean and apply an appropriate Health Canada approved disinfectant(s) in accordance with the application directions provided by the master label. Cleaning touchpoints is crucial to reducing the spread of COVID-19. To further reduce the potential for infection transmission, touchpoint cleaning should be paired with the application of disinfectants to the many surfaces where viral contaminants may exist.

Preferred Deep Clean Service (Includes all touch point cleaning, extended touchpoint cleaning and ULV fogging)

This service includes all of the touchpoint cleanings as listed above, with an extended surface area above the basic touchpoint areas, including the entire room(s) being wiped down from top to bottom. This service would include ceiling, light fixtures above 6’ on walls, cabinet tops/bookcases, tiles, any areas that would extend past the 3-12 inch range of the touchpoint areas.

ULV fogging equipment is used predominantly for the application of disinfectants, biocides, fungicides and pesticides. Our ULV fogging machines generate a fog or mist formed of Ultra Low Volume (ULV) droplets between 5-50 microns (μm) in diameter. Studies have shown that droplets of this size are ideal for tackling pathogens, vector carriers and pests. This fogging technique is used to ensure that all hard-to-reach surfaces will be treated. An increasing concern due to a growing global population is animal or bird to human transmissions such as H1N1 (swine flu) and the H5N1 strain of bird flu. Disinfection of surfaces using a fogger is essential to stop the spread of these types of infections.
